New generation BAROOX pressure chamber
The new generation BAROOX pressure chamber performs hyperbaric oxygenation sessions in Nehama Sanatorium. A pressure chamber is a high—pressure oxygen treatment. Oxygen treatments can improve performance, reduce the risk of disease, and increase muscle tone.
The procedure increases the partial pressure of oxygen in the tissues, helps with a number of conditions, accelerates recovery and improves well-being. The method is used in clinical practice at pressures of about 1.9–3.0 ATA, as part of comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation programs. With this effect, the cells of the body are renewed, thus prolonging human life.
What is a pressure chamber and how does it work?
Hyperbaric oxygenation, or HBOT, is the supply of oxygen under high pressure in a sealed chamber. Dissolved oxygen increases in blood plasma, delivery to tissues improves, ischemia and edema decrease, and healing processes are activated. BAROOX refers to modern medical pressure chambers designed for patient convenience and precise modes.
Indications:
HBOT sessions are used as part of complex therapy for the following conditions and tasks, as prescribed by a doctor:
- Chronic wounds and ulcers, including diabetic foot, compromised flaps and grafts;
- Effects of radiation damage to tissues, gas gangrene, necrotizing infections, osteomyelitis, decompression sickness, carbon monoxide poisoning;
- Diseases of the cardiovascular system and central nervous system according to clinical indications and protocols, as an adjunct to basic therapy;
- Reduction of immune reactivity and fatigue, sports and wellness tasks, according to the doctor’s plan;
- Cosmetology goals as part of skin and soft tissue repair programs.
Contraindications:
Contraindi-cations:
- Absolute contraindication: uncapped pneumothorax;
- Relative contraindications: certain lung diseases, recent operations on the middle ear and sinuses, convulsive disorders, pregnancy, severe fever, claustrophobia. The decision is made by the doctor after a face-to-face assessment;
- The risks of adverse events increase at pressures above 2.0 ATA and long courses. The selection of modes reduces the likelihood of side effects.
